“SUOR ANGELICA” – bezaubernde Opernabende in Algund und Schlanders

Am 17.,18. und 20. Mai 2023 durften wir Interessierte und Opernliebhaber zum kurzen Einakter „Suor Angelica“ von Giacomo Puccini nach Algund und Schlanders einladen. Das Publikum erlebte drei Abende mit Oper in stimmungsvollen Bildern und mit großen Stimmen unter der Leitung von Richard J. Sigmund.

Es ist uns als Kulturverein Amaté und Ensemble gelungen, eine tiefgründige Oper mit Gänsehautmomenten auf die Bühne zu zaubern. Die Geschichte der Ordensschwester Angelica, welche nach der Geburt ihres unehelichen Kindes ins Kloster verbannt wurde und dort einen emotionalen Leidensweg durchschritt, wurde von Puccini großartig vertont und vom Ensemble der „Merano Academy“ beeindruckend erzählt.

Jungen internationale Solistinnen, allesamt Teilnehmerinnen der Merano Academy 2023, das Vokalensemble Amaté und junge Instrumentalisten, insgesamt rund 40 Mitwirkende auf und hinter der Bühne, haben mit einem der berührendsten Einakter der Opernliteratur das Publikum verzaubern können. 

Inszenierung, Ausstattung, Lichteffekte und ein wunderbares veristisches Bühnenbild boten den kunstvollen Rahmen für das junge Ensemble. Das Publikum wurde so in den Klangzauber der Musik von Puccini gezogen und erlebte eindrucksvoll in Szene gesetzte emotionale Augenblicke des Musiktheaters. 

In der Titelpartie brillierte die junge belgische Sopranistin Loes Cools sowohl schauspielerisch als auch stimmlich. Ausdrucksstark, gut geführt und differenziert setzt sie ihre Stimme ein. Ein Genuss sie als Sängerin zu erleben. Die Südtirolerin Anna Nardi bot eine stimmgewaltige und doch nuancenreiche „Principessa“, der man ihre Rolle gerne abnahm. Alle Solistinnen der kleineren Rollen und das Ensemble sangen hervorragend und spielten mit Herzblut und großer Bühnenpräsenz. Die interessante und farbenreiche Fassung für wenige Instrumente wurde vom kleinen Orchester einfühlsam gespielt.

Am Ende der Vorstellung gab es großen Beifall für eine sehr gut gelungenen und nicht alltägliche Opernpremiere.

Inhalt: 

Die Oper spielt in einem Kloster am Ende des 17. Jh. Schwester Angelica entstammt einer aristokratischen Familie. Vor Jahren wurde sie in ein Kloster gezwungen, nachdem sie ein uneheliches Kind geboren hatte. Seitdem hat sie nichts mehr von ihrem Kind und von ihrer Familie gehört.

Alle Angehörigen des Klosters haben sich zum abendlichen Gebet versammelt. Schwester Angelica meint, nicht die Toten hatten Wünsche, sondern die Lebenden. Eine Schwester berichtet, sie habe vor dem Kloster eine Kutsche gesehen. Es ist der Wagen der Fürstin, Angelicas Tante, die kommt, um mit ihrer Nichte die Erbangelegenheiten der verstorbenen Eltern Angelicas zu regeln. Die Fürstin wiederholt die Vorwürfe, die Angelicas Familie der Tochter immer gemacht hat. Angelica erkundigt sich nach ihrem Kind. Zögernd antwortet ihr die Fürstin, dass das Kind lange an einer schweren Krankheit gelitten habe. Angelica bricht im Glauben, dass ihr Kind tot sei, zusammen. Mit letzter Kraft unterschreibt sie das Dokument, den Verzicht auf ihren Erbteil. Die Tragödie nimmt ihren Lauf.

"SUOR ANGELICA" - incantevoli serate d'opera ad Algund e Silandro

 
Il 17, 18 e 20 maggio 2023 abbiamo avuto il piacere di invitare persone interessate e amanti dell'opera lirica alla breve opera in un atto "Suor Angelica" di Giacomo Puccini ad Algund e Silandro. Il pubblico ha vissuto tre serate di opera in immagini suggestive e con grandi voci sotto la direzione di Richard J. Sigmund.
 
Noi, l'Associazione Culturale Amaté e l'ensemble, siamo riusciti a creare un'opera profonda con momenti da pelle d'oca sul palco. La storia della suora Angelica, esiliata in un convento dopo la nascita di un figlio illegittimo e lì sottoposta a un calvario emotivo, è stata magnificamente musicata da Puccini e raccontata in modo impressionante dall'ensemble dell'Accademia di Merano.
 
Giovani solisti internazionali, tutti partecipanti all'Accademia di Merano 2023, l'ensemble vocale Amaté e giovani strumentisti, per un totale di circa 40 partecipanti sul palco e dietro le quinte, hanno incantato il pubblico con uno degli atti unici più toccanti della letteratura operistica.
L'allestimento, le decorazioni, gli effetti di luce e una meravigliosa scenografia veristica hanno fatto da cornice artistica al giovane ensemble. Il pubblico è stato così coinvolto nella magia della musica di Puccini e ha vissuto momenti di teatro musicale di grande impatto emotivo.
 
Nel ruolo del titolo, il giovane soprano belga Loes Cools ha brillato sia dal punto di vista recitativo che vocale. Ha usato la sua voce in modo espressivo, ben diretto e differenziato. È stato un piacere sperimentarla come cantante. L'altoatesina Anna Nardi ha offerto una "Principessa" dalla voce potente eppure ricca di sfumature, il cui ruolo è stato prontamente accettato. Tutti i solisti nei ruoli minori e l'ensemble hanno cantato superbamente e si sono esibiti con cuore e anima e grande presenza scenica. L'interessante e colorata versione per pochi strumenti è stata suonata con sensibilità dalla piccola orchestra.
 
Alla fine della rappresentazione ci sono stati grandi applausi per una prima d'opera molto ben fatta e non comune.

L'opera è ambientata in un convento alla fine del XVII secolo. Suor Angelica proviene da una famiglia aristocratica. Anni fa fu costretta a entrare in convento dopo aver dato alla luce un figlio illegittimo. Da allora non ha più avuto notizie di suo figlio e della sua famiglia.
 
Tutti i membri del convento si sono riuniti per la preghiera serale. Suor Angelica dice che non sono i morti ad avere desideri, ma i vivi. Una sorella riferisce di aver visto una carrozza davanti al convento. È la carrozza della principessa, zia di Angelica, che sta arrivando al convento.

"SUOR ANGELICA" - enchanting opera evenings in Algund and Silandro

 
On 17,18 and 20 May 2023 we had the pleasure of inviting interested people and opera lovers to the short one-act opera "Suor Angelica" by Giacomo Puccini in Algund and Silandro. The audience experienced three evenings of opera in atmospheric pictures and with great voices under the direction of Richard J. Sigmund.
 
We, the Amaté Cultural Association and the ensemble, succeeded in conjuring up a profound opera with goosebump moments on stage. The story of the nun Angelica, who was banished to a convent after the birth of her illegitimate child and there went through an emotional ordeal, was magnificently set to music by Puccini and impressively told by the ensemble of the "Merano Academy".
 
Young international soloists, all participants of the Merano Academy 2023, the vocal ensemble Amaté and young instrumentalists, a total of about 40 participants on and behind the stage, enchanted the audience with one of the most touching one-act operas in opera literature.
Staging, décor, lighting effects and a wonderful veristic stage set provided the artful framework for the young ensemble. The audience was thus drawn into the magic of Puccini's music and experienced impressively staged emotional moments of musical theatre.
 
In the title role, the young Belgian soprano Loes Cools shone both in acting and vocally. She used her voice expressively, well directed and differentiated. It was a pleasure to experience her as a singer. The South Tyrolean Anna Nardi offered a powerful-voiced and yet nuanced "Principessa", whose role was readily accepted. All the soloists in the smaller roles and the ensemble sang superbly and performed with heart and soul and great stage presence. The interesting and colourful version for few instruments was sensitively played by the small orchestra.
 
At the end of the performance there was great applause for a very well done and not everyday opera premiere.

The opera is set in a convent at the end of the 17th century. Sister Angelica comes from an aristocratic family. Years ago she was forced into a convent after giving birth to an illegitimate child. Since then she has heard nothing from her child or her family.
 
All the members of the convent have gathered for evening prayer. Sister Angelica says that it was not the dead who had wishes, but the living. A sister reports that she has seen a carriage in front of the convent. It is the carriage of the princess, Angelica's aunt, who is coming to the convent.
